Book presentations

On March 18, 2022, the presentation of the book by Manuel Menéndez, from Perpignan, was held in the Castle, at our headquarters. The title of the book is curious "From the center of the world to the shadow of the moon" but the author explained it during his presentation.
The presentation of Manuel Menéndez was given by the former mayor of Figueres Joan Armangué.

On Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m., the presentation, at the headquarters of Amics del Castell de Sant Ferran, of the new book of Episodes of the Castle of Sant Ferran “HIJACKING IN SANT FERRAN” by J. Carlos Arroyo and edited by our Association. This number is the first of fission, not historical. An attempt has been made to recreate a situation in the Castle with fictional characters.
The author was presented by the professor of Language and Literature Jordi Casals, who praised the author and analyzed some passages of the book. The event was a great success for the public.

On Friday, October 22, 2021, the book “EL BRIGADE DE L’HOTEL FLORIDA” was presented by its author Octavi Dalmau that was presented by the historian Alfons Romero.
The summary of the book reads: “After the civil war and the world war that followed it, the thieves, the scammers, those who took the artistic riches and all kinds of battlefields, now, they are struggling to turn the product of their plunder into gold. To achieve this goal, they will not hesitate to kill whoever gets in front of them, even their partners and colleagues of misdeeds. Again, Ramon Molins, head of the Civil Guard, will try to find the untidy to solve this case. City of Figueres, in the second half of the 1940s“.

On Friday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m., at the headquarters of Amics del Castell de Sant Ferran, the book of the new book by Lieutenant General Carlos Díaz Capmany “Governors of The Castle of Sant Ferran (1875-1901)”, edited by our Association.
The premises of the headquarters were prepared with all the measures marked by the health authorities, basically masks and safety distance.
The president, César Barrenechea, welcomed the attendees and participants of the table, the author of the book and its presenter Colonel Jesús Heras.
He then gave the word to Jesus Heras, who praised the General. In the video, which aired live, you’ll hear all the interventions.

On Friday, June 11, 2021 at 7:30 p.m., the book by the former mayor of Figueres Joan Armangué “Histories d’alcalde” was presented at the headquarters of Amics del Castell de Sant Ferran. Figueres, 1995-2007)”.
The premises of the headquarters were prepared with all the measures marked by the health authorities, basically masks and safety distance.
The president, César Barrenechea, welcomed the attendees and explained that we were beginning a new stage of recovery of post-pandemic activities. Then he presented the act, by the author of the book, Joan Armangué, and the journalist Josep Playà, who will present the author himself.
Then he gave the word to Josep Playà, who made a presentation-dialogue by hand with the author referring to excerpts from the book and his questions that needed clarification. Joan Armangué answered all the questions and abounded in detail, naming facts and people, many of whom are still part of public life.
